REM Pipeline Consultants, LLC has significant experience in all aspects of pipeline design. Our personnel have designed and routed pipelines through all types of terrain, both onshore and offshore.

Management of pipeline design continues through several stages of the project life cycle. Our personnel are experts at managing the front end loading engineering design process and can take the pipeline design through the Proposal, Conceptual Development, and FEED stages of the project process. Utilization of our design process services helps the owner company to meet the stated goals of the project related to cost, schedule, market conditions, reliability, and operability.

Pipeline route selection can be the single most important variable that can be controlled in the cost of building a pipeline. Route selection has a direct effect on the cost of the right of way, the construction cost and the length of the pipeline. We are experienced at routing and managing construction of pipelines, both onshore and offshore.

Onshore terrains encountered have included pasture and crop lands, wooded areas, mountainous areas, deserts, swamps, and arctic. Major water crossings designed with HDD, direct lay, or pull have included rivers (Mississippi River), bays (Pensacola Bay), gulfs (Gulf of Aqaba ; Gulf of Mexico), and lakes (Lake Sakakawea). Congested area design has included areas of city streets, utility corridors, highway corridors, and railroad corridors.

Our personnel have routed pipelines using the latest GIS, GPS and satellite imagery technologies as well as using helicopters, airplanes, boats, cars, trucks and on the ground survey techniques.

We are experienced in all types of subsurface routing conditions that are likely to be encountered. Design management of subsurface conditions can have a significant bearing on the cost of the pipeline installation. Our engineers are thoroughly familiar with construction techniques required for pipeline installation in rock, clay, sand, organic material, Arctic and wet or swamp areas as well as in city streets and in extremely narrow municipal and industrial corridors. Many installations by horizontal directional drilling have also been designed. Subsurface geological investigation programs to ensure the feasibility of pipeline projects have been common practice for REM personnel.

We are experienced in offshore pipeline routing as well. Experience includes designing:

• Subsea hot tap tie-ins to existing pipelines and to subsurface production wells in over 300
  feet of water
• Risers and approaches to existing platforms
• Subsea crossings of pipelines
• Numerous underwater inspection programs both by divers and remote operated
  submarine vehicles.
• Crossings of extremely wide and deep water bodies, such as the Gulf of Aqaba between
  Egypt and Jordan
